SRLC at the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2018

A phenomenal opportunity to spread awareness of charitable causes and raise funds, the Mumbai Marathon has become one of the most important events in the city’s calendar. This year, SRLC participated at the Tata Mumbai Marathon to raise funds for the construction of the new Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital (SRH), a 250 bed multi-speciality charitable hospital in Dharampur, Gujarat. The existing 80 bed hospital has been serving people of South Gujarat since 2004 and this new hospital will fulfill the critical need to expand quality healthcare services with modern infrastructure.

On the bright morning of 21st January 2018, over 1000 SRLC volunteers and supporters put on their running shoes for the 6.5 km Dream Run on the streets of Mumbai. SRLC’s novel theme in this edition was ‘Be the Bridge of Love and Care’. Dressed in innovative costumes that depicted a bridge, the theme showcased how the new SRH will help in bridging the gap between illness and good health! Various messages of the SRLC 10 fold programme were displayed along the bridge.

The SRLC Motivation Zone was a sought-after place along the picturesque Marine Drive as several marathon participants and on-lookers partook in activities. A pulsating and unique stomping performance by children from Shrimad Rajchandra Gurukul and Shrimad Rajchandra Vidyapeeth was received with admiration and applause by the crowd. Children from Shrimad Rajchandra Divinetouch added to the festive spirit through their songs and dances.

With the grace of Param Krupalu Dev and blessings of Pujya Gurudevshri, SRLC raised over `2.75 crores for the new SRH through this mega event.
