How to do a Split – Hanumanasana (Monkey Pose) | Follow Along
Hanumanasana, or the Monkey Pose is dedicated to Hanuman, an ardent devotee of Lord Ram. It demonstrates the giant leap made by him to reach Lanka from India in the Ramayana. Hanumanasana is an advanced posture that works specifically on the flexibility of the hips, the groin region, the quadriceps and the hamstrings. It activates the Muladhara and Swadhisthana Chakras (root and sacral chakras), improves the functioning of the abdominal organs, increases flexibility and alignment, relieves stress and helps one sleep better too. It’s time to take the ‘greatest leap ever’ and experience fluidity, flexibility and flow! Please Note: This pose is of an intermediate level, beginners should practice it under the supervision of a yoga trainer.
