Soy Milk

Soy milk contains vegetable proteins and is a rich source of isoflavones which have many health benefits including reduction in cholesterol levels, prevention of osteoporosis and minimising risk of prostate and breast cancer. Let us incorporate the health benefits of soy milk in our diet through these recipes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soybeans soaked for 6-8 hours
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. In a blender, mix the soaked soybeans and water until it achieves a smooth texture.
  2. Squeeze this mixture through cheesecloth to remove the solid particles.
  3. Repeat this process twice to extract optimum quantity of milk.
  4. Boil this milk over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
  5. While boiling, stir regularly to avoid milk sticking to the vessel, becoming frothy or spilling over.
  6. Cool and serve this fresh and healthy soy milk.
