Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur, UK is proud to present a Charity Fund Raising FireWalk on Saturday 19th April 2014 in support of two very deserving charities - Nascot Lawn Children's Respite Centre, UK and Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care's Science College for Tribal Students, India. In the Divine presence of Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshji, over 300 brave souls will bare their soles and walk a 15 foot stretch of hot coals blazing at 1200 degrees Fahrenheit in an amazing FUNdraising feat and raise funds to enhance the lives of special needs children in Hertfordshire, UK and deserving tribal students in rural India. The FireWalk will be conducted by UKFIREWALK and led by Scott Bell, twice holder of the Guinness World Record for walking the longest firewalking distance. 1) Based in Watford, the Nascot Lawn Respite Unit for Children is the only one of its kind in Hertfordshire that provides a high standard of day and overnight care for children with severe learning and physical disabilities. The funds received from the Charity FireWalk will be used to create an outdoor area that encourages the development of sensory abilities of touch, smell, sound and sight in these children and provide them with a rich learning and therapeutic experience. 2) Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care (SRLC) is making an exemplary contribution in promoting the welfare of people, animals and the environment, having touched over 1 million lives through its 10 Care programme. The majority of efforts are for the upliftment of the tribal population, in one of the poorest areas of South Gujarat, India. This being the first generation of tribal students who aspire to pursue higher education, provisions for the same in these areas are scarce. SRLC is building a Science College, the first of its kind in the area, which will allow 500 students each year from disadvantaged backgrounds a chance to enhance their career prospects, climb the social ladder and pursue their dreams. The college will have all the required facilities such as laboratories, classrooms, library etc. and will offer a Degree Course in Science and IT.
