Singapore Centre Reaches out to Migrant Construction Workers on Labour Day

On the occasion of Labour Day on May 1, we honoured the hands that build our country by undertaking a seva initiative for migrant workers at the Marine Parade Community Centre. We lovingly distributed thoughtfully prepared bags containing snack packets, a drink, hand towel, and a pair of socks to migrant workers operating at construction sites as a token of our gratitude for their tireless efforts. Their warm smiles during this initiative reaffirmed our commitment to serve those whose efforts often go unnoticed.

Our Lord’s compassion is not merely restricted to humans but flows to all forms of life. The scorching summer heat takes its toll on birds as they find it difficult to obtain water and roam around to quench their thirst. To extend our love towards these birds, who cannot convey their needs, we distributed over 400 water pots to various individuals at three different events. These water pots will offer them a life sustaining refuge. We thank the Lord for instilling in us the sensitivity to expand our care to all living beings.

We joined them in this noble endeavour as we collected rice and beans with the courtesy of generous contributions from local stores, neighbours, and friends and donated them to the Interfaith Community Services. They will distribute this to individuals in need, spreading the love and compassion of the Masters.

Volunteers were divided into four teams and we began cleaning the street which we had earlier adopted. By a labour of love, we were able to restore cleanliness in the area by collecting trash and disposing it. The satisfaction of making our surroundings a better place through this initiative reinforced the importance of selfless service in all forms.

A Sip Of Kindness! Chaas Distribution Drive

A Sip Of Kindness! Chaas Distribution Drive

As temperatures soar during the harsh summers, chaas (buttermilk) emerges not just as a traditional Indian drink, but as a vital remedy for dehydration. Rich in probiotics, electrolytes, and essential nutrients, chaas helps cool the body, aids digestion, and replenishes lost fluids, making it the perfect antidote for heat exhaustion.

Harnessing the power of this humble drink, Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care volunteers and Youth Group members launched a nationwide initiative to bring relief to the underprivileged. Spread across the months of April and May, Youth Groups and volunteers from Mumbai including Dahisar-Borivali, Ghatkopar, Matunga, Mulund, Navi Mumbai, Santacruz, South Mumbai and those from Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Jaipur, Kolkata, Nagpur, Pune, Surat, Vadodara, and Vishakhapatnam distributed over 2,30,000 chaas packets. Chaas booths were set up in busy market areas, while pouches were also distributed at construction sites and high-traffic zones. Volunteers reached out to community workers, homeless individuals, and daily-wage earners, providing them with refreshing servings of chaas. The initiative was widely appreciated by the beneficiaries across locations.

By the grace of Param Krupalu Dev and blessings of Pujya Gurudevshri and supported by the indomitable spirit of over 550 volunteers, this effort not only quenched thirst but also highlighted the spirit of unity and compassion. It served as a reminder that simple acts like offering a glass of chaas can bring immense comfort and joy, especially when temperatures rise and kindness becomes the greatest relief. The drive not only provided physical relief but also brought a sense of solidarity and care to those facing the harsh realities of summer… one glass of chaas at a time!
