Ladakh: Festival of Yoga and Meditation
SRMD Yoga was honoured by an invitation from Pujya Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder-President of the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) to participate in Ladakh’s largest festival of yoga and meditation, supported by the Ministry of Ayush.

Amidst the tranquil Himalayan backdrop, mass yoga and meditation sessions unfolded across the region – by the placid Pangong Lake, within the University of Ladakh, on the sacred grounds of Diskit Monastery at Nubra Valley and atop the lofty Khardung La Pass; embodying the essence of this year’s theme, ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’. The festival culminated on 21st June with a spirited gathering at Leh Astro Turf Stadium, where thousands united in celebration of the International Day of Yoga.

Atmarpit Dr Mansiji, along with other SRMD Yoga trainers, represented the Mission at the festival, conducting sessions throughout the week. She also delivered an address at a seminar on the influence of yoga and meditation in nurturing emotional resilience and mental well-being. During the concluding ceremony, where revered saints and dignitaries shared heartfelt messages with an enthralled audience, Atmarpit Dr Mansiji extended closing thoughts on behalf of Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur. The team deepened affectionate ties through informal moments with Pujya Bhikkhu Sanghasena and interacted warmly with distinguished guests including Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of Law and Justice, Government of India; Smt Kiran Bedi, IPS (Retd.)and former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry and numerous faith leaders.

Pujya Gurudevshri was also bestowed with the Himalayan Yoga Award for World Peace by Pujya Bhikkhu Sanghasena.

“Pujya Gurudevshri is a saint whose compassion flows through both inner awakening and outer service. During my recent visit to Dharampur, I saw firsthand the depth with which He serves — from the multi-speciality hospital to the upcoming world-class animal hospital, every detail reflects profound care for all beings. And yet, His humility is what moves me most. It was a joy to have SRMD Yoga at our recent International Festival of Yoga and Meditation 2025 — their presence brought sincerity, depth, and grace to every session.” — Pujya Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder-President, MIMC (Ladakh)

The festival – extensively covered by leading media entities such as Reach Ladakh, The Earth News, and Doordarshan – witnessed participation from a vibrant cross-section of the society, including Indian Army personnel, university faculty, students, rural residents, and medical professionals.
