Adi Shankaracharya Virachit Vivekchudamani

By the boundless grace of Param Krupalu Dev and the unlimited benevolence of Pujya Gurudevshri, the revered scripture chosen for an in-depth study during the year 2017 is Vivekchudamani, composed by the great Indian saint and philosopher, Sri Adi Shankaracharya.

Param Krupalu Dev has called ‘Vivek’ the foundation of spirituality. He has said that Vivek – discrimination is highly beneficial and is the lamp to realise the soul in the midst of darkness. Many letters of Param Krupalu Dev have praises and mention of Sri Adi Shankaracharya and His writings.

‘Vivekchudamani’, a poetical dialogue of 581 Sanskrit verses between the Sadguru and the disciple, gives us the wisdom to discriminate between the real and the unreal; the permanent and the temporary and thus abide in the bliss of the Real Self. Pujya Gurudevshri will unravel the treasures hidden in these timeless verses through transformational Satsang Shibirs every month. To facilitate the study, a book containing the original Sanskrit verses along with Gujarati and English meanings has been published by the Mission.
