The practise of tea meditation technique reminds you to slow down and appreciate the simple gifts of life. It is a beautiful mindfulness exercise bringing tranquillity and serenity.

Step 1

Set up an area for your tea meditation. Choose your special chair or table where you are going to have your tea. Avoid indulging in anything else like your cell phone, newspaper etc. Enter into the practise with a fresh mind.

Step 2

Choose your tea, any specific flavour. Take an attractive mug. Select your sweetener or sugar. Place them all out on the table so you have everything ready.

Step 3

Fill a kettle with hot water and put it to boil. As the water is boiling, just sit patiently. When the kettle whistles, slowly pour the hot water into your mug over your tea leaves or bag, and add your sweetener.

Step 4

Sit at the area you have designated for the tea meditation. Before you drink, take a moment to give thanks for the cup of tea in front of you.

As you finish your tea, express your gratitude again. Continue in seated meditation for as long as you like. Enjoy and treasure the experience.
