As part of a nationwide campaign to promote financial literacy, the Reserve Bank of India had observed ‘Financial Literacy Week’ in February in order to propagate financial education messages among the public across the country. A special awareness session focusing on the theme of digitisation, the opportunities it offers, as well as the safety measures with respect to digital banking was conducted. Awareness on various Government initiatives, including Jan Dhan saving accounts and Pradhan Mantri Bima Yojana was also spread. The guests at the event included Shri Gaurav Kumar – District Development Manager, NABARD; Shri Devang Arora – Lead District Manager, NABARD; Shri Haresh Joshi – State Director, Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETI); Shri Nitish Sharma – Director, RSETI; etc. The session was attended by women from self-help groups and students of Shrimad Rajchandra Skill Development Centre.
