Shrimad Rajchandra Youthwing Sports 2018 Sports have the innate potential to bring you to the present moment, sharpen your awareness, refresh your spirits and invoke the ability to thrive as a team. The first weekend of February witnessed young aspirants gather at the Ashram and gear up for a riveting experience as they participated in the annual Shrimad Rajchandra Youthwing (SRY) Sports activities. The tournament comprised of indoor games such as Table Tennis, Carrom and Chess while the outdoor games included Football, Cricket, Volleyball and Throwball. Fun and frenzy engulfed the environment as the Volleyball and Throwball final matches were played at the large Amphitheatre. The craze of the world’s most popular sport Football, was evident as youngsters participated in the game with gusto. Loud cheers filled the air as Pujya Gurudevshri arrived at the large event area to watch the final match. The surprise players of the football finals, Atmarpit Nemiji and Atmarpit Apurvaji stepped on the field amidst a roaring crowd. An exciting match followed and both teams showcased a high level of competitiveness along with a strong spirit of sportsmanship and mutual respect. The exhilaration continued as cricket, the most loved sport of the country, reached a thrilling finale. The cricket finals were also attended by Anil Garia and Ganesh Mahudkar. These two visually impaired cricket players, from areas around Dharampur, were a part of India’s winning team in the 5th Blind Cricket One Day World Cup held in January 2018. The Master lovingly autographed a bat and football for the winning cricket and football teams respectively. For their outstanding performance and remarkable spirits, Yuvarpit Rohan Virani and Jivanarpit Arishti Sheth were bestowed with awards for SRY Best Sportsman 2018 and SRY Best Sportswoman 2018. The SRY Sports 2018 was an uplifting opportunity for the youth to not only recharge their body and mind but also to invigorate their spirits for the game of life.
