Red Velvet Churros

Ingredients
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ cups red velvet cake mix
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups water
- 4 tbsp margarine
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon taj
- 1½ cup whipped cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- canola oil for frying
Instructions
- Boil water, powdered sugar and margarine in a pot over medium heat.
- Add flour and cake mix. Stir vigorously until the mixture has no streaks.
- Take the pot off the heat and stir it until the dough attains uniform consistency.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag with a size 9 star tip. Pipe three to four inches strips of the dough on a baking sheet to form the churros. Freeze them for 30 minutes.
- Heat the canola oil in a pot over medium heat. Fry the red velvet churros for about three to four minutes.
- Remove them and drain the oil on paper towels.
- Using a straw, poke a hole through the centre of the churros to hollow out a cavity for the filling.
- In a plate, mix cinnamon and granulated sugar. Roll the hollowed out churros in this mixture.
- In a medium bowl, mix cream, confectioners’ sugar and vanilla extract, stirring it until smooth to form the filling.
- Transfer this filling into a piping bag with a round tip. Pipe it into the churros.
- Serve this delicious and tasty Red Velvet Churros.
