Pujya Gurudevshri visited the Govardhan Ecovillage in Palghar district on 15th January along with sevaks from the Sadguru Prerna project and Shrimad Rajchandra Jivamaitridham. Govardhan Ecovillage illustrates the principle of ‘Simple Living and High Thinking’. Pujya Gurudevshri had an endearing meeting with Pujya Radhanath Swamiji, Founder of the Govardhan Ecovillage. The purpose of the visit was to study the environmental and social initiatives being undertaken by them. The visit provided useful insights into initiatives such as Water harvesting and recycling, Bio-gas plant for converting cow dung into manure, Wet waste management, Organic gardening with seed bank and nursery, Ayurvedic Centre for health management, Yoga teachers’ training courses, Animal rehabilitation centre, Gaushala and Gurukul. The representatives of Ecovillage accorded warm hospitality and also extended their support for implementing the initiatives at the Ashram.
