Volunteers distributed talpatris to families in underserved communities across the Mumbai region.
Mumbai’s 2026 monsoon season brought intense rainfall, with the city recording over 400mm in the first four days of July alone. For families living in slums and other settlements, with little or no weatherproof roofing, such conditions can be devastating.
Prior to the onset of the monsoon, volunteers from Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care reached interior slum settlements and villages across the Mumbai region, distributing ‘talpatris’ – waterproof tarpaulin sheets – that serve as critical temporary shelter during the monsoon months.
Over 800 talpatris were distributed across communities in Panvel, Vasai, Kalyan, and Badlapur, ensuring that families most vulnerable to the rains were equipped before the season set in.
