100-plus patients received specialist consultation at an epilepsy camp held at Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital and Research Centre, Dharampur
Epilepsy affects millions across India, yet access to specialist neurological care remains out of reach for many in rural and tribal regions. Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital and Research Centre organised a free Epilepsy Outpatient Consultation Camp to address this gap, bringing specialist care directly to patients from the surrounding region.
The camp was led by Dr Joy Desai, M.B.B.S., M.D. (Internal Medicine), D.N.B. (Neurology), who conducted specialist consultations for patients with epilepsy (those experiencing seizures or seizure-like symptoms) and individuals presenting with broader neurological concerns. Each of the 111 patients received a thorough clinical evaluation, treatment guidance, and counselling.
Beyond consultation, the camp served to improve awareness of epilepsy, enable early diagnosis, and connect patients with timely medical care and follow-up.
