Empowering Farmers through Mango Grafting Training
Under its Consolidated Community Development initiative, Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care conducted a practical training programme on mango grafting in Dharampur, aimed at boosting mango productivity and farmer income. The event saw active participation from a select group of farmers across eight villages. Led by an expert, the training covered key aspects of mango grafting including the selection of scion and rootstock, step-by-step demonstration of various grafting methods and post-graft care. In addition, mango cultivation, irrigation management as well as manure application to the mango orchard were taught. The hands-on approach ensured that participants gained a thorough understanding of the techniques. At the conclusion of the session, grafted Kesar mango saplings were distributed among the farmers, laying the foundation for enhanced mango production in the region.
The training received positive feedback, particularly from the youth, who saw this as a viable solution to employment challenges. Follow-up support, advanced training and market linkages for mango produce are planned to ensure the success and sustainability of this initiative.
