Joy Avenue
On September 22, the Shrimad Rajchandraji Marg at Opera House, Mumbai came alive with a vivacious festival – the Joy Avenue. Organised by Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur, supported by the Lodha Foundation, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Mumbai Police and Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST), Joy Avenue offered a heartwarming celebration filled with positivity, inclusivity and creativity. An initiative by the Shrimad Rajchandra Youthwing under its Community Care programme, the festival offers a platform for individuals to showcase their talents, families to bond and the community to come together. The Mission’s spirited Youth Groups of Mumbai had planned and executed the
entire event.
The maiden event was inaugurated by Pujya Gurudevshri alongside prominent dignitaries, including Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Hon. Cabinet Minister of Skills, Employment,Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Government of Maharashtra; Shri Bhushan Gagrani, Municipal Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC); Shri Vivek Phansalkar, Police Commissioner of Mumbai and Dr Ashwini Joshi, Additional Municipal Commissioner of BMC. These dignitaries were felicitated by the trustees of Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur. The dignitaries offered a garland and shawl to Pujya Gurudevshri as a mark of their respect to the Master. Atmarpit Nemiji, Personal Secretary to Pujya Gurudevshri and Vice President of Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur, delivered an inspiring address, reminding the crowd of the importance of sharing joy and spreading positivity.
The inaugural episode of Joy Avenue was a resounding success. Over 40 activities were showcased across 36 stalls. From kickboxing and Zumba to salsa, garba, singing and even a flash mob and drum circle, the event offered something for everyone. A heartwarming performance by differently-abled children captured the true essence of inclusivity. 50-plus performances by over 100 performers were well received by the audience.
