Paryushan Mahaparva Celebrations 2021

Paryushan Mahaparva is a festival that helps seekers realign to the path of the enlightened ones. Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur celebrated this 8-day mega-spiritual festival from 3 – 10 September 2021 with devotees tuning in from their front row virtual seats.

The sacred days began with meditation on the different values of Jainism. This was followed by Pujya Gurudevshri’s discourses on the 10th chapter of Shri Uttaradhyayan Sutra. This was followed by an energetic Snatra puja. Evenings began with introspective prayers seeking atonement for sins committed throughout the year.

Evening discourses by Pujya Gurudevshri unfolded the spiritual path of the detached Omniscient Ones through Patrank 843 from Shrimad Rajchandra Vachanamrut.

The auspicious day of Mahavir Janma Kalyanak vanchan allowed devotees to rock Bhagwan Mahavir’s cradle amid joyous devotional dances. This was followed by ‘Rajni Aankhe Veerne Olakhiye’ a bhakti series that displayed the Lord’s exalted inner state through the medium of Param Krupalu Dev’s proficient words.

The sacred day of Samvatsari brought with it the opportunity to seek forgiveness in the pious presence of Pujya Gurudevshri.

On the auspicious occasion of Paryushan Mahaparva, 501 animals were saved from being sent to slaughterhouses, and were reinstated in appropriate shelter houses.

On 11 September, numerous tapasvis around the world who had undertaken diverse penances were lovingly blessed with a virtual parna in the presence of Pujya Gurudevshri.

The festival came to an end with heads bowed in reverence and hearts overflowing with gratitude for the soulful experience.
