Technology for Social Good: A Global Showcase

Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care exhibited its innovative and sustainable initiatives at a global event – ‘The Next 50: Shaping a Digitally Transformed World, From Inspiration to Impact’, held in San Jose, California in June.

Hosted by Gartner Research Board, a well-known research and advisory organisation, the event provided a platform for selected global non-profit organisations to demonstrate their progressive use of technology in delivering social welfare.

Volunteers delivered an engaging presentation, explaining how technology was leveraged to provide accessible, affordable and quality healthcare in rural India. Sustainability was also highlighted as a key principle in the ongoing comprehensive 10-Care programme. These initiatives included:

  • Robotics-aided physiotherapy and research into non-invasive, new medical technologies at Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital and Research Centre.
  • Centralised cloud-based servers for efficient management of patient data at the Hospital as well as for the Outreach Programme.
  • Soil BioTechnology plants at the Ashram for cleaning and re-using sewage water for landscaping and use of solar power systems.

Distinguished leaders such as Jensen Huang, Co-founder, President and CEO of NVIDIA, a global technology giant, praised Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care for its far-reaching impact, grassroot-level connect and active youth participation. Buddy Teaster, CEO of Soles4Souls, a non-profit organisation distributing clothes and footwear worldwide, envisioned potential collaborations in India to empower communities in need.

The event was attended by other eminent leaders, such as Roshni Malhotra, Chairperson, HCL Technologies and Peter Diamandis, Founder, XPRIZE Foundation. Other global non-profit organisations present included NPower, TechPACT, All Tech is Human, Responsible AI and more.

The team from Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care comprised of dedicated youth volunteers and was led by Dr Aarti Shah, Trustee of Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care – USA.

Participation in this event marked a significant milestone for Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care, enabling it to demonstrate its vision of harnessing the power of technology for social upliftment.

“My reaction is one of awe – at the power and reach of this network, and how something like this could have spread to become a global phenomenon! Then, I learnt about the spirit of the young people that are involved. And that’s the reason why this network is so powerful – it’s from the grassroots. It’s because of the loving care of individuals and of these young people, that the impact that you’ re able to make on the ground there in India is spreading all the way around the world and here in the United States. And, I’m just so impressed by the enthusiasm, love and the spirit that I’m feeling here today.

And I can’t wait to visit when I’m in India!”
