SRMD London Youth Festival
By the incessant grace and blessings of Param Krupalu Dev and Pujya Gurudevshri, the SRMD London Youth Festival – organized by Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur UK – brought together 350 young minds from across the United Kingdom in a ground-breaking two-day event featuring 25 curated activities.
Held at Merchant Taylors’ School, North London, under the theme of ‘Meet the Real You’, the festival commenced with a virtual inaugural address by Pujya Gurudevshri, followed by a session led by Global Youth Speaker and Head of SRMD Yoga, Atmarpit Shraddhaji.
The Wisdom Masterclass encompassed interesting sessions on topics like ‘The Art of Connection’, ‘Mindful Indulgence’, ‘Greed vs Ambition’, ‘Me, Myself & I’, amongst others. Delving into the concept of ‘Unmasking Yourself’ contestants were encouraged to embrace their true selves. A standout moment was the Changemakers Panel, presenting influential women who have challenged societal norms and have made a constructive impact. The esteemed panellists motivated the audience to actively contribute towards the betterment of society.
The youngsters celebrated team spirit and well-being by participating in lively sports tournaments, as well as took part in innovative events like ‘Techno Yoga’ and ‘Glowstick Meditation’. Participants demonstrated their mental fortitude by bravely walking on fire.
The ‘ImmerseVerse’ experience served as a platform for self-discovery and engagement. Participants explored diverse avenues of personal growth through activities such as blind drawing, doodling, ‘Flex Your Mental Muscle, Unlock Your Brain’s Potential’ and others.
Another of the festival’s key events was the Social Impact Hackathon where 45 participants formed teams to discuss critical challenges faced by today’s youth. They presented ingenious solutions to improve intellectual health services, bridge housing accessibility gaps for young professionals and combat food waste and climate alterations.
The SRMD London Youth Festival left an indelible mark on the attendees, empowering them to be proactive change makers in their communities and beyond.
