Eminent Professors from USA associate with Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital and Research Centre
Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital and Research Centre has a longstanding track record of building associations with leading education and research institutions across the world. Continuing this legacy, illustrious medical professionals from the Yale School of Public Health and the Yale School of Medicine, Yale University, USA recently visited the hospital.
The team included Professor Sten Vermund, former Dean and Professor in Infectious Disease Epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health and Professor of Paediatrics at the Yale School of Medicine; Dr Mayur Desai, Associate Dean and Professor of Epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health and Dr Sheilaja Mittal, who is pursuing a Masters in Public Health at Yale.
During their visit, the team reviewed the outreach programme and the anaemia mitigation project of the hospital and were extremely impressed with the robust systems in place and the on-ground impact of these initiatives. Another objective of the visit was to establish collaborations between the faculty and students at the University with the hospital. Students from Yale will also be visiting the hospital to play a role in these ongoing outreach programmes.
Focusing on holistic and global health issues, Professor Vermund gave an engaging talk on ‘Climate Change and Health’, which was attended by many medical and allied professionals from across Valsad district.
