A Workshop for Vocational Education
As a part of the Educational Care programme, a two-day teacher training workshop was organised in association with the District Institute for Education and Training and Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, Gujarat. More than 125 teachers, including principals, from Valsad district participated in the interactive workshop held at the Ashram. The theme of the workshop was ‘Effective Implementation of 10 Bagless Days’. The National Education Policy 2020 emphasises the importance of programmes like bagless day, vocational courses and vocational crafts for a child’s overall development and integrates vocational skills as part of the learning process for students from grades 6 to 8.
An innovative curriculum, integrating skill-based learning with real-life exposure, was shared. Career and life skills too were imparted. Starting with the history and context of informal learning, participants discovered the advantage of taking learning beyond the classrooms. The participating delegation got an opportunity to meet Pujya Gurudevshri at the Ashram and seek His blessings. The workshop was successful in developing the right mindset for vocational education, empowering educators for a brighter tomorrow.
