London Spiritual Centre Aids Afghan Refugees The political turmoil in Afghanistan has led people to flee their homeland and seek shelter across geographies. Almost 30 families, amongst thousands who managed to escape, arrived in the vicinity of our spiritual centre with very few possessions. Within 24 hours of being notified about them, we collected and donated food, clothes, toiletries and comforted them in these testing times. Many local residents also joined in this noble endeavour and contributed to the initiative. An Afghan couple residing nearby was delighted to come across our appeal and immediately joined our efforts and acted as translators when needed. We will continue to assist them directly as well as in collaboration with the authorities. We pray for the prompt and smooth rehabilitation of these families, many of whom have young children and speak little English.
