Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care’s Global Relief Campaign for Coronavirus Pandemic In an immediate response to the global coronavirus crisis, as well as to tackle the challenges of the ensuing lockdown, Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care undertook a unique 360 degree programme consisting of impactful initiatives in India and abroad to provide safety and relief to individuals and communities. Pujya Gurudevshri blessed the efforts by preparing ration kits at the Ashram for daily wage earners who are unable to sustain normal life during this crisis. He also participated in preparing safety and utility kits for the families of doctors, nurses, policemen, government officials and other frontliners who have dedicated themselves to stopping the spread of this disease. A summary of the Coronavirus Relief Initiatives: Supporting Daily Wagers, Migrant Workers and Less-Privileged 15 lakh Meals served Supporting Frontliners 3,400 PPE Kits 20.60 lakh Masks 1,630 litres of Sanitizer 1,000 Safety Kits to the Government of Gujarat officials 1.40 lakh Health Drinks 150 Medical Staff trained for Ventilator Usage 300 Beds sourced for Government Quarantine Facility Feeding and Taking Care of Animals 11,700 Stray Animals fed 36,000 kgs of Fodder and Grains A Global Initiative Over 2 lakh Daily Essentials and Food Items distributed Over 10,000 Medical Frontliners benefitted Over 2,000 Volunteers in action Over 50 Cities across India and abroad Relief initiatives were undertaken in Dharampur, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Akola, Amravati, Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochin, Dhanbad, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Jaipur, Jamnagar, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Nadiad, Nagpur, Nashik, Navsari, Pune, Rajkot, Secunderabad, Silvassa, Surat, Surendranagar, Vadodara, Wankaner in India. Volunteers in cities like Abu Dhabi, Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Dubai, Houston, Indianapolis, Leicester, London, Los Angeles, Manchester, Mississauga, Nairobi, Parsippany, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Princeton, San Diego, Sharjah, Singapore, Sydney, Toronto, Washington DC also undertook campaigns. The norms of lockdown and social distancing were taken care of while carrying out all activities. In cities across USA, volunteers distributed food packets, daily essentials, medical gowns and masks In UK, the volunteers from London undertook a campaign to distribute Gratitude Packs containing chocolates, sweets, cereal bars, snacks etc to the Superheroes (doctors, nurses and medical workers) while volunteers in Manchester distributed food and essentials to the less-privileged and medical supplies to a hospice. Sydney centre launched an accommodation assistance and free medical aid initiative for those affected by the pandemic. Singapore volunteers distributed bags containing food and essentials to daily wagers and masks and sanitizers to migrant workers living in dormitories. In Dubai, volunteers distributed food items at a labour camp. The initiatives were widely covered on TV channels like India TV, Zee 24, India News, News 18, Lokmat, ABP Asmita, Arihant, Aastha, Sanskar etc. and in print media like The Times of India, Divya Bhaskar, Sandesh, Gujarat Samachar, Janmabhoomi, Dainik Bhaskar, Rajasthan Patrika etc. The campaign reached lakhs of people through various social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. Celebrities such as Shri Paresh Rawal – Former Member of Parliament, India and Film Actor; Shri Manoj Joshi – Padma Shri Recipient and Film Actor; Miss Amyra Dastur – Film Actress; Miss Bhoomi Trivedi – Artist and Singer appreciated the Mission for these initiatives and made an earnest appeal to their followers to support it.
