Updates from Shrimad Rajchandra Love And Care (SRLC):

  • Health Care:
    • Shrimad Rajchandra District Early Intervention Centre, a part of Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital and Research Centre (SRHRC) is now a recognised Model Centre by the Government of India.
    • SRHRC regularly conducts training sessions for other hospitals and government centres to ensure sharing of the best practices in early intervention.
    • In the past, these workshops have been attended by members from various disciplines, including physiotherapists, speech therapists, dentists, lab technicians, medical officers, nurses and administrative managers.
    • An ‘Introduction and Sensitisation Training Programme on Early Intervention’ was organised for faculty members from Early Intervention Centres across Gujarat from 16-30 Jan, 2023.
    • The experienced team of Shrimad Rajchandra District Early Intervention Centre trainers had carefully selected the topics for each domain and it was a great academic and skill-learning opportunity for the trainees.
    • The latest developments in the field of Early Intervention were shared to address the 4 D’s in children – birth defects, diseases, deficiencies and developmental delays/disabilities.
    • Dr Sumita Ghosh, Additional Commissioner in Charge of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, India, was present virtually to inaugurate the training programme.
    • She applauded the efforts of SRHRC to provide services and training for DEIC staff.
    • Additionally, a two-day educational tour of SRHRC was hosted for 27 Nodal Medical Officers from Early Intervention Centres of different districts in Gujarat. Through the tour, they studied and observed the holistic approach towards Early Intervention at SRHRC, achieved through the integration of medical outreach, mobilisation and training of health workers and community linkages.
    • Inspired by this, the medical staff in Madhya Pradesh and AIIMS Jodhpur have also sought similar training programmes.
